T-Rex(s)... and theories of evolution

The family and I recently went on a tent camping expotition (As Winnie the Pooh calls it... ). Now it was, what I'm sure will be recorded as, the wettest week for the last year or two... more on this to follow potentially...

Anyway, on one of these wet days, we decided to take a respite from the torrential rain, rivers of mud and resulting smiling but brown (from mud) and blue (From cold) faced / hand / feet'd children, by having a day in the tent.... with the kids. (No we didn't leave them to fend for themselves in elements... give it another year or two. :)  )

While playing with my youngest little bundle of joy in the mountainous landscape of bedding, one of the tickle generating implements I used was a T-Rex that was a particular favourite of my boys. In the play I grew to learn that this ferocious looking animal could not only terrify it's prey with it's mammoth size, sharp teeth and evil eyed glare... but also produced a sound...

A very impressive, knee knocking, unmistakable... squeak.

As I played amongst the covers, I couldn't help but smile, wondering if somehow I was doing a disservice to the child's learning in regards to evolution...

But hey, you never know, they did happen to go extinct and all... maybe I've just found the real reason!!!
